GOST 5632-72 Stainless and Heat-Resistant Steel Grades
What GOST 5632-72 covers
GOST 5632-72 is a regional grade standard used for high-alloy stainless, corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant and heat-strength steels and nickel-base alloys. It is commonly referenced by grade designation and chemical-composition limits. The grade name must be paired with the applicable product standard because GOST 5632-72 does not by itself define every dimensional tolerance, surface condition or inspection requirement for the finished product.
Using the standard in a U.S. purchase request
State the complete grade designation, required edition or amendment set, product form and delivery condition. For older drawings, confirm whether the requirement calls for the original GOST designation or an approved material produced to another standard. Transliteration can vary, so include the Cyrillic designation or drawing reference when available.
Grades and equivalence
A cross-reference to an ASTM, AISI, EN, DIN or UNS designation is a starting point for engineering review, not proof of interchangeability. Chemistry ranges, heat treatment, mechanical properties, test methods, dimensional tolerances and certification can differ. Evek LLC will review a proposed alternative only when the buyer permits equivalents.
U.S. sourcing overview
This page supports purchasing teams working from drawings, bills of material and legacy specifications that identify a grade under GOST 5632-72. Evek LLC can review the requested designation and available product routes for delivery in the United States.
Product forms and sourcing
Sourcing can be reviewed for plate, sheet, strip, bar, rod, wire, tube, pipe, forgings and cut blanks, depending on the exact grade and governing product standard. Include thickness or diameter, width, length, condition, tolerances, surface, heat treatment and required testing.
Evek LLC reviews each requirement against the requested grade, specification, form, dimensions and quantity. Availability, origin, production route, minimum quantity and certification are confirmed during quotation; website text is not a stock or compliance guarantee.
Specification and substitution
Do not approve a substitute from a short equivalence table alone. Compare the complete chemical limits, product specification, condition, mechanical or physical properties, testing and documentation. The buyer or responsible engineer must approve any alternative before order placement.
The purchaser remains responsible for material selection, design approval and confirmation that the specified material is suitable for the finished component, manufacturing process and service environment.
