Advantages of .

Heat resistance, heat resistance, high corrosion resistance in hot concentrates of alkalis and acids should be noted. Mechanical strength allows products to withstand pressure of 370-440 MPa. Nickel is covered by an oxide film at ambient temperature which protects the metal from corrosion. Ni retains its magnetic properties even at t° -100°C. It is biologically inactive, which makes it popular in the food industry and medicine. Its surface after polishing looks very effective. Plasticity allows to produce NP-2 circle of any cross-section, to subject it to all types of processing: cutting, welding, turning, cold rolling. The addition of sulfur impairs the properties of the alloy NP-2 because it tends to form a sulfide film on the surface that makes the metal brittle at high temperatures.

Production

The NP-2 circle consists of 99.5% of pure Ni with 0.5% of impurities, which includes Cu, Si, Fe, Mn, S. C. The marking "H" stands for nickel itself, and "P" for semi-finished product. The number indicates a greater or lesser content of impurities.

The grades H-1, NP-1, NP-2 etc. are known. The grades H1, H3, NP-2, NP-3, silicon Ni of NK 0,2 grade are used for making a circle. Alloy NP-2 is obtained by remelting nickel scrap. The production of rounds is regulated by GOST 13 083-77 "Rods of nickel and silicon nickel. Under the order shall be made a circle of any length. Its surface must be clean and smooth, without dirt and cracks. Defects must not exceed the size of the allowable deviations. At the point of fracture the circle must be without foreign inclusions or voids. The edges of the cut must be straight, chopped edges are allowed only for bars, with Ø up to 35 millimeters. The rod may only be straight. The value of the permissible curvature is determined by multiplying the length of the entire product by the value of the greatest curvature in a given place.

Applications

Production of parts which work under severe conditions of severe heat and mechanical stress: special and electric-vacuum engineering, instrument engineering, chemical, petrochemical industry. In electrochemistry, it is used for the manufacture of cathodes and anodes; in metallurgy - for alloying.
