Alloy ML10

Designation

Name The value
Designation GOST Cyrillic МЛ10
Designation GOST Latin ML10
Transliteration ML10
By chemical elements CuЛ10

Description

Alloy ML10 is used: for the manufacture by sand casting and gravity die casting castings stressed parts that require high integrity and high dimensional stability with maximum working temperature of +250 °C — long +350 °C short — term (details of different designs, engines, instruments and assemblies, requiring high integrity).

Note

High-temperature alloy system MD-REE-Zr.
For alloying of the alloy of the rare earth metals neodymium use. The alloy contains also supplements of zinc and zirconium.
Alloy combines sufficiently good mechanical properties at room temperature with high heat resistance, good casting and technological properties, allowing to obtain a dense casting with a uniform mechanical properties in the cross-sections of different thickness.

Technological properties

Name The value
Features of heat treatment According to OST 1 90121-90 to improve the mechanical properties (σв, σ0,2) casting in the ground, shell molding, gravity die casting, investment casting and plaster mold apply heat treatment by mode T6 - Tempering by blowing air 540±5 °C (exposure 8-12 h) + Aging at 200±5 °C (delay of 12-18 h), air cooling. In this case the plastic properties decrease. A noticeable increase in the values of σв, σ0,2 is achieved in the hardening of the casting by blowing air. To maximize the mechanical properties of the alloy (σв, σ0,2) mode is applied Kzt61 - Quenching in warm water (80-90 °C) 545±5 °C (delay of 4-8 h) + Aging at 205±5 °C (exposure 8-12 hours), air cooling. To obtain sufficient strength, the stability of the structure and geometrical dimensions used mode T7 - Hardening by blowing air 540±5 °C (exposure 8-12 h) + Aging at 250±5 °C (extract 3-5 h), air cooling.
Corrosion resistance Parts should be corrosion protection by applying an oxide coating according to GOST 9.025 and coatings for OST 3-1928. 3-1460.
