Designation GOST Cyrillic МЛ7-1
Designation GOST Latin ML7-1
Transliteration ML7-1
By chemical elements CuЛ7-1

Description

Alloy МЛ7−1 is used: for manufacturing by sand casting body castings for aerospace parts (pump bodies, parts, oil parts, engines) continuously operating in the temperature range from 150 °C to 200 °C.

Note

Alloys, medium strength, has a high resistance compared to the properties of alloys of the system Mg-Al-Zn.

Technological properties

Name The value
Weldability Alloy welded satisfactorily TIG and oxygen - acetylene welding.
Features of heat treatment According to OST 1 90121-90 casting in the ground (sand casting) for reducing the internal stresses of the recommended heat treatment regime T2 - Annealing at 325±5 °With (extract 3-5 h), air cooling. Alloy heat treatment is not hardened.
Corrosion resistance The alloy possesses satisfactory corrosion resistance. For corrosion protection details oxidenot and applied coatings.
Castability Castability of the alloy Мл7-1 is satisfactory, however, due to the presence of calcium shows a tendency to formation of hot cracks in the casting.
Phase composition Phase composition of the alloy Мл7-1: a solid solution of aluminum and zinc to magnesium, the connection Mg4Al3 and Аl2Са and particles of elemental manganese. This compound with solid solution of magnesium in 7.6% of Sa forms a eutectic, melting at 616° C.
