Description
Alloy 16ЮХ used: for the manufacture of cores of magnetic heads and other electronic components; parts aircraft instrumentation with high resistance to fast neutron irradiation at temperatures up to +100 °C.
Note
Magnetically soft wrought iron base.
The alloy has high wear resistance.

According to TU 14-1-469-73 the chemical composition is given for the alloy 16YuX. When adding 2.0-3.0% of rhenium due to iron, the alloy has a marking of 16Yuikh-VI.

Alloy have a low magnetostriction and, therefore, have a high deformation stability. The addition of rhenium at the expense of iron (alloy 16ЮИХ-VI) allows to achieve even lower magnetostriction and higher permeability in comparison with the alloy 16ЮХ-VI. Both alloys possess high electrical resistivity (1.5 μω-m) and, consequently, reduced losses in eddy currents, which is an advantage for operation at higher frequencies. |
