Corrosion-resistant steel 06XHN28MDT on iron-nickel base is used for welded structures designed for operation at the temperature up to 80ºС in acidic environments. This alloy is capable of working for a long time in sulfuric acid of different concentrations, but it quickly loses strength in 55% solution of acetic acid as well as in acids containing phosphorus.

Manufacturing
Corrosion-resistant alloy 06KhN28MDT is melted in electric arc furnaces. Final shaping is carried out on rolling mills. Tape is welded by automatic and manual welding in shielding gas with flux. When manual arc welding, electrodes OZL-37-2 and OZL-17U with a rod of welding wire Sv-03KhN25MDG or Sv-02KhN25MDGB are used. The same filler material is used for automatic arc welding. It is recommended to use flux AH-18.
Application
Tape 06ChN28MDT used for the production of welded structures of reactors, tanks or heat exchangers that operate in chemically aggressive environments at temperatures up to 80º C. Welded structures made of this iron-nickel alloy are widely used for manufacturing technological equipment in agrochemistry (for the synthesis of complex mineral fertilizers), as well as equipment designed for the production of welding tools (electrodes). In addition, this alloy is widely used to repair technological equipment operating in a radioactive environment. Tape 06ХН28МДТ can be used as a cladding layer in the production of two-layer hot-rolled corrosion-resistant sheets.
