Wire 68nhvktu - ep578
General Characteristics
68NKhVKTU-VI wire (obsolete name EP578-vi) is produced according to the technical specifications 14-1-4470-88. It belongs to the group of heat-resistant precision steels with high elasticity characteristics. It is characterized by stability even at high temperatures for a long time. What makes this wire popular is that it is very wear resistant and actively resists oxidation in nitrogen or ammonia environments. This allows it to be widely used in the manufacture of industrial and consumer electrical equipment. Such technological characteristics as heat resistance, heat resistance and the ability to withstand aggressive environments are achieved by alloying components: cobalt, titanium, tungsten, niobium. The main disadvantage is considered to be the instability to the atmosphere of sulfur compounds. The relative high cost of the wire is due to the high cost of nickel - the main component of the alloy.
