Advantages of the alloy
VT20 (pseudo alpha alloy Ti-6.5Al-1Mo-1V-2Zr). It is characterized by high strength and heat resistance, well deformed in hot state, well welded by all kinds of welding (including other titanium alloys), the welded joint is equal in strength to the base metal. Alloy is lightweight, its density is 4,45 g/cm³, melting temperature is 980 - 1020 ° C.
Disadvantages of
Because of the high aluminum content the plasticity of the alloy in the processing of pressure is lower than that of a similar titanium alloy OT-4.
