Technical Characteristics
Alloy is a composite material (copper and tungsten). It is a pseudo-alloy of two metals that has the following characteristics: high temperature resistance, wear resistance, resistance to high loads and temperatures, excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. The alloy has a very complex microstructure. The composite is directly connected to the metal matrix, so that the final product combines the properties of both metals.
Production
Since copper and tungsten are not mutually soluble, the material consists of a mixture of tiny particles of one metal in a matrix of the other. Therefore, this material is not a true alloy, but a composite with a metal matrix. It combines the properties of both metals, semi-finished products of this pseudo-alloy is obtained by crimping of microparticles of tungsten in the desired shape, sintering the compacted mass, and then filling the structure with molten copper.
