Rose tungsten alloy

General Characteristics

Rose alloy is an alloy of fusible metals It was obtained by the German chemist Valentin Rose Sr. The melting point of the alloy is +94 ° C and the solidification temperature is from 93 ° to 96 ° C. The alloy contains about 50% bismuth, 18% tin, and 32% lead. It melts well in boiling water and is a silver-colored pellet. Its characteristics are similar to Wood Alloy, but the alloy is less toxic because it does not contain cadmium.

Applications

Alloy Rose is supplied in rods 10×12×250mm, ingots and pellets according to TU 6-09-4065-88. It serves as a special solder POSV-50 for soldering of contacts sensitive to overheat, for soldering of electric aluminum fuses, copper and copper-aluminum alloys in semiconductor engineering. It is used for soldering and tinning of copper, copper alloys, nickel, bronze, brass with silver-plated ceramics, soldering of jewelry and silver-plated parts. Radio amateurs use this alloy for tinning copper surface of etched boards. Two or three grains of the alloy are added to boiling water, and then citric acid. The board is lowered into the container and pressed to the bottom with a stick with the copper side. The finished board is removed and cleaned with a cloth.

Storage and Transportation

In a tightly packed container Rosé alloy can be stored both outdoors and in closed warehouses for three years. In contact with the skin alloy can cause allergies and even intoxication, as it contains heavy metals. Transported by all modes of transport.
