Alloying of heat-resistant steel
Chromium increases hardness and corrosion resistance. Nickel makes the alloy ductile; tungsten makes it hard and red-hot. Vanadium and niobium increase strength, impact and abrasion resistance. Molybdenum makes the alloy red-hot and resists oxidation at high temperatures. Manganese content above 1% increases hardness, impact strength and wear resistance. Titanium increases stability, corrosion resistance. Carbon content in the range of 0.04 to 0.08% provides higher strength at elevated temperatures.

Grades of heat-resistant alloys
Valve steels are designed for producing valve assemblies. Boiler steel

Turbine steel
These are gas turbine blades, turbine disks, combustion chambers. The austenitic steels used to make such products are divided into two groups.
