General information
The chemical, mechanical and physical requirements of forged carbon steel products are governed by ASTM A686-92. This standard applies to hot or cold rolled bars, plates, sheets, wires, or forgings that are designed to be used in a variety of metal cutting tools or forging tools.
Material Selection
The choice of material for a particular application will depend on design, service conditions, and desired properties. Hardness
