Technical Characteristics

V is a ductile, strong metal similar to steel. The melting point is about 1920 °C, density 6.11 g/cm³.It is chemically inert metal. It is resistant to water and diluted solutions of alkali and acids. It forms several oxides with oxygen: VC carbide is extremely refractory and melts only at 2,800°C. Today, vanadium products are available in sheets, rods, foils, strips, tubes, wires and micron wires. The grades used are: VnPl-2, VnM-1, VN2A-1, VnM-0, BB-8, VnP-1, VH-8.
