General rules

State Standard 5950-2000 is considered to be the basic standard for stamping steels. It defines the chemical composition of steels, technical conditions for their production, forms and methods of testing the quality of finished products. This standard applies to hot-rolled bars, strips and coils, forged bars and strips, calibrated bars and coils, bars with special surface finish (hereinafter - metal products) of tool alloy steel. ZCr2MoVNF, 4Cr2MoVNFS, 9Cr2MoV steel grades, as well as ingots, blooms, slabs, billets, forgings, sheet, strip, tubes and other steel products are covered by the standard only with regard to chemical composition standards.

Production

Metal products shall be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard according to the technological procedure approved in accordance with the established procedure. Metal products are heat-treated (after annealing or high tempering). Steel products of 11XF, 13X, 9X1, X, 12X1, 9XS, V2F, XGS, 9XVG, XVG, XVSGF grades for cutting tools are made annealed (OT). Quality

The ends of bars and strips must be cut or chopped without burrs and chips. The length of the crumpled ends must not exceed:

- 1.5 diameter or thickness - for metal products with a diameter or thickness up to 10 mm;

- 40 mm - for steel products with a diameter or thickness from 10 to 60 mm;

- 60 mm - for metal products with a diameter or thickness over 60 mm.

In addition, technical requirements for the composition and properties of high-speed steels (which are also used to manufacture working parts of punches) are set by GOST 19265-74.
