Technology of production of copper tubes

Rolled copper pipe is widely used in the production of elements of water supply systems, air conditioning, chemical and food industries. Copper tubes are produced in accordance with GOST 617 standards. Copper tubes are produced within diameter range of 0.35...360 mm with wall thickness of 0.05...30 mm. Copper pipe is produced according to the following technologies:

  • Forging. Solid drawn seamless pipes are produced by this method;
  • Spiral rolling. Pipes are made from a coil and then welded together;
  • Conventional rolling, in hot or cold condition.

Blanks of copper grades M1, M2, M3 with maximum admissible percentage of impurities not more than 0,08 ... 0,1 % are used for production.

Stages of production of copper pipes

  • Preparation of initial metal for forming - cleaning of surface, lubrication, etc.;
  • Rolling, drawing or extrusion;
  • Straightening and cutting into lengthwise segments (for pipes of small diameters we wind the pipe profile in coils);
  • Cleaning from residual process lubricants;
  • Quality control of finished products.

Supplier Evek GmbH offers to buy copper rolling of domestic and foreign production at an affordable price in a wide range. We provide delivery of products anywhere in the continent. The price is optimum.

Wrapping

Wrapping makes it possible to get rolled material with especially accurate dimensions of inner diameter, as well as with a slight strain hardening. The main production equipment are multi-conversion tube drawing mills. Drawing is carried out on a mandrel from hot-deformed billets, at normal temperatures. The required surface quality and the reduction of operating stresses on the tool is ensured by means of intensive lubrication. Sometimes the rolled tubes are annealed after drawing.

Rolling

During rolling, the billet is subjected to rolling rolls compression. First a through-hole is made in the coarse billet using hot pressing, followed by rolling the semi-finished product using mandrels and round gauges. The cold rolling method is used to produce copper tubes with diameter of up to 200 mm and wall thickness of up to 0,05 mm. The rolled tube is close to the cold drawn tube in terms of dimensional accuracy and roughness. The rolling force is lower than the drawing force.

Pressing

Copper tubes are pressed in hot condition at a temperature of the initial billet of 730 ... 8000 C. The method allows to obtain pipes of square, oval and other sections.
