Technical Characteristics
Conduct reduction of tantalum compounds with a reducing agent while the compound and agent are continuously or semi-continuously supplied to the reactor. Applications
Tantalum powder is commonly used in the manufacture of capacitors. Solid tantalum capacitors are usually made by pressing tantalum powder into pellets which are sintered in a furnace to form a porous body, and then anodized in an appropriate electrolyte to form a continuous dielectric oxide film on all the inner and outer surfaces of the sintered porous body. The pores in the thus obtained anode are then filled with the cathodic electrolyte. Afterwards, the whole body of the pore-filled anode is sealed to form a capacitor.
