Density and specific heat capacity of rhenium and rhenium alloys
Are you interested in the density and specific heat capacity of rhenium? Supplier Evek GmbH offers you to buy a wide range of rhenium products at an affordable price. We provide delivery of products to any point on the continent. The price is optimal.
Production
Rhenium is not found in free form, but gadolinite and molybdenite ores may contain small amounts of the metal. Global annual production is about 5 tons, and proven reserves are estimated to be in the range of 3,500 tons, mainly in the United States, Russia, and Chile.
Technical Characteristics
Rhenium is a silvery rare metal, very hard and resistant to corrosion. Because of its high melting point (3185°C) it is used in the production of rocket engines in alloys together with tungsten and molybdenum. These alloys are indispensable for heating filaments and X-ray machine targets. They are also used as electrical contacts. Rhenium catalysts are extremely stable and are used for hydrogenation of chemicals. Rhenium thermocouples can measure temperatures above 2000 °C, Alloyed with platinum, this metal is used as catalysts in the production of high-octane gasoline. Alloyed with molybdenum, they are superconductors at 10 K. Rhenium-nickel alloys are used to make monocrystalline turbine blades.

Toxicity
The toxicity of rhenium has not been established. It is known, however, that it can cause eye and skin irritation. Liquid containing rhenium can cause burns to the skin and eyes. If inhaled, rhenium vapor can cause respiratory irritation, up to and including dizziness or suffocation. Evek GmbH offers to buy rhenium. Price from manufacturer. Supplier provides shipment to any location specified by the customer.
