Technical Characteristics
The specific heat capacity of molybdenum, like other heavy metals, is not high. At 20 °C it has a specific heat capacity of 244 J/(kg-cold), which is almost half the heat capacity of steel. The heat capacity of molybdenum increases uniformly up to the melting point and can reach a value of 537 J/(kg-cold) under these conditions. During the transition to the liquid state its heat capacity decreases and becomes 421 J/(kg-cold).
