This industry standard OST1 90202-75 applies to hot-rolled bars of titanium alloy grade BT16, designed for the production of fasteners by hot upsetting and turning.
1. Range
1.1 Dimensions of round bars shall meet the following requirements.

2 Technical requirements
2.1 Titanium bars are supplied hot-rolled without heat treatment.
As agreed by the Buyer, bars are supplied annealed.
2.2 The chemical composition of the alloys shall meet the requirements of OCT1 90013-71 (replaced by CT1 90013-81), with aluminum content being within 2.2-3.8%, and hydrogen content not more than 0.012%.
2.3.The mechanical strength shall meet the following requirements.

2.4 Some minor defects in the form of skins, dents and notches on the surface of rods are allowed, which do not lead rod beyond the minus deviation in diameter. Cleaning and turning of the surface is allowed, which does not take the dimensions beyond the diameter deviation limits.2.5 Grain size, determined on a 10-point scale of macrostructure, shall not exceed 3 points.
2.6. The microstructure determined by the 9-point microstructure scale shall correspond to types 1-6.
2.7. The macrostructure of the alloy shall be free of delamination, cracks, voids, metallic and non-metallic inclusions visible to the naked eye.
2.7.1 Surface defects within the minus deviation in diameter, allowed by clause 2.4. and visible on the macrostructure are not a rejection feature.
