Ost 90013-81. Titanium alloys. Grades.

Relevance

This industry standard OST 90013-81 applies to titanium and titanium alloys, machined by pressure.

Chemical composition

1. Up to 0,3% Al is permitted in BT1-00 technical titanium, and up to 0,7% in BT1-0 technical titanium.
2. In BT5 alloy, molybdenum up to 0,8% and vanadium up to 1,2% shall be allowed.
3. In BT5-1 alloy, vanadium content shall not exceed 1%.
4. Content of aluminum not more than 0,2%, nitrogen - not more than 0,03%, oxygen - not more than 0,12% and hydrogen - not more than 0,0035 is admissible in the technical titanium BT1-00 welding wire.
5. In the alloy VT6, designed for the manufacture of high pressure cylinders and fasteners, aluminum must contain 5.3-6.5%, vanadium 3.5-4.5%, oxygen and iron, respectively, no more: 0.15 and 0.25%.
Alloy of such composition is additionally marked with the letter "C" (BT6C).
In all other cases, the presence of aluminum shall be 5.5-6.8%.
Note. In the manufacture of semi-finished products of grade BT6 providing for a minimum level of temporary resistance of 95 kgf / mm2, allowed the presence of aluminum and vanadium, respectively, no more than 7 and 5.5%.
6. In semi-finished products of alloy VT8, perhaps the presence of up to 7.3% Al, except for blades, disks and blanks for them.
7. In flat rolled grade BT14 up to 10 mm thick, aluminum is contained within 3.5-4.5%, and in other types of semi-finished products - 4.5-6.3%.
8. The percentage of zirconium not exceeding 1.5% is allowed in BT15 grade composition.
9. BT16 alloy semi-finished products intended for the production of fasteners (except rivets) have aluminum content in the range 2.2-3.8%, and in other semi-finished products - 1.8-3.4%.
Note. Alloy designation for rivets is specified in the order.
10. In BT18 alloy, the total molybdenum and niobium content shall be in the range of 0.9-2.1%.
11. In all alloys containing molybdenum as the main component, its partial replacement with tungsten in an amount not exceeding 0.3% is allowed. The total content of molybdenum and tungsten shall not exceed the standards provided in the table for molybdenum.
12. In all alloys that do not contain as main components of chromium and manganese, the latter are allowed in an amount not greater than 0.15% (in total).
13. Titanium and alloys contain copper and nickel in an amount not exceeding 0.10% (total), including nickel not exceeding 0.08%.
16. The chemical composition of titanium and titanium alloys shall be determined according to GOST 19663.0-80 - GOST 19863.13-80, GOST 23902-79 or by other methods ensuring precision not lower than that specified in the above-specified standards.
In case of disagreement in the assessment of the chemical composition determination is made in accordance with the following State Standards: 19863.0-80; 19863.13-80; GOST 23902-79.
