ASTM A588 Standard.

This standard covers high-strength, low-alloy structural steel shapes, plates and bars for welded, bonded or bolted construction with atmospheric corrosion resistance. Heat analysis shall be performed in which low-alloy structural steel materials shall meet the required chemical composition for carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, copper, and vanadium.
