Technical requirements of GOST 27266-87

1.1 The wire must be produced in accordance with the requirements of this standard according to the technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner. The wire shall be made of molybdenum grades MCh, MK and MRN.

1.2 Main parameters and dimensions
1.2.1 The range shall comply with GOST 18905-73.
1.2.2 Molybdenum grade and diameter range are given below.

Grade of molybdenum Designation Type Group Wire diameter range, mcm Production accuracy
MF Tungsten filament monospire core, hooks, supports and other lamp parts К А

Auxiliary spirals VS А 45 - 129 Enhanced
MK Inlets, supports, traverses of high-power and some special incandescent lamps, cathodes of gas-discharge devices, etc. - А 200 - 2500 Normal
MRN Inlets, cores for spiralization of tungsten and its alloys, traverses - А 600 - 2500 Normal

1.3 Characteristics

1.3.1 Chemical composition of the wire.

Grade of molybdenum Mass fraction of molybdenum, %, no less Mass fraction of additive, %. Mass fraction of impurities, %, not more
MF 99,96 - 0,04
MK 99,92 Silicon 0.019 - 0.04 0,04
MRN 99,92 - 0,08

1.3.2 Surface quality
1.3.2.1 Group A wires with a diameter of 400 microns or less shall have the color black to dark gray, and wires with a diameter of over 400 microns - black to light gray.
1.3.2.2 Group B wires shall be free of grease, oxidation and other contamination.
1.3.2.3 The wire shall be free of burrs, splits and cracks. Burrs and risks not exceeding the wire diameter limit are permitted on wire with diameter of 500 microns and more.
1.3.3 Tensile mechanical properties of the wire shall comply with the requirements given below.
1.3.4 Molybdenum wire of MF-KS and MF-VS grades shall not break when spiralized.

1.3.6 Supply

1.3.6 Wire of diameter 400 µm and 'less shall be wound on spools without knots or loops. The winding shall be tight and uniform across the width of the spool and ensure free winding from the spool. MK type wire with a diameter of up to 500 microns may be wound on spools.

Free height of the spool edge after winding must be not less than 2 mm.
The top (end) of the wire must be looped or fixed on the reel board with polyethylene tape with a sticky layer according to GOST 20477-86.
Wire with diameter over 400 microns shall be coiled. Each coil must be tied in three or four places with copper wire in accordance with GOST 2112-79.
Wire in coils should not be twisted into a figure eight.

1.3.7 Sectional Area

1.3.8 Wire cross-section shall be round. Ovality not exceeding the tolerance of the wire diameter shall be allowed.
For wire diameter 400 µm and less, ovality shall be provided by manufacturing.
1.3.9 The wire shall not be brittle.
1.3.10 Wire under 200 microns in diameter shall have no kinks.

1.4 Marking

1.4.1 Each reel, coil or bundle of coils shall have a label stating

  • name of manufacturer;
  • reference designations in technical documentation;
  • lot number;
  • for wires with diameter up to 400 microns inclusive - nominal diameter and weight of pieces
  • weight of a coil or a bundle of coils;
  • date of manufacture;
  • technical control stamp.
1.4.2 An accompanying label shall be affixed to a box of spools of wire of the same diameter, type, group and accuracy of manufacture, indicating
  • the name of the manufacturer;
  • batch number
  • reference designation in the technical documentation;
  • number of spools or coils and the total length or weight of wire
  • date of manufacture;
  • technical control stamp.
1.4.3 Transport marking of cargo and handling marks: "Caution, fragile", "Afraid of damp".
