This standard establishes a spectral method for determining impurities of vanadium, iron, calcium, cobalt, silicon, magnesium, manganese, copper, nickel, lead, titanium, chromium, zinc and zirconium in lanthanum, cerium, europium, gadolinium, lutetium, yttria (previously converted to oxides) and their oxides. The method is based on excitation and photographic registration of arc emission spectra of the materials analyzed and reference samples with subsequent determination of the mass fraction of impurities on the graduation diagram.
