Steel SHKH15SG
Designation
Description
SHKH15SG steel is used: for the manufacture of seamless hot-deformed pipes, intended for the manufacture of rings, ball and roller bearings; large-size forged rings, ball and roller bearings with a wall thickness of 20−30 mm; balls with a diameter more than 50 mm; rollers with a diameter greater than 35 mm; bearings for railway transport.
Standards
Chemical composition
Fe is the basis.
According to GOST 801-78 and TU 14-1-3911-85 the chemical composition is given for steel grade SHH15SG. The total content of Ni + Cu≤ 0.50%. In steel, obtained by the method of electroslag remelting, the mass fraction of sulfur should not exceed 0.01%, and phosphorus 0.025%. When steel is smelted in acid open-hearth furnaces, the mass fraction of copper is allowed up to 0.30%, while maintaining the norm of the total share of copper and nickel is not more than 0.050%. For steel ШХ15СГ-Ш with a cross section of more than 140 mm intended for the manufacture of large-sized bearings, restricted limits are established: the mass fraction of manganese is 1.00-1.20%, chromium is 1.40-1.65%, silicon is 0.45- 0.65%.
