Alloying
The strength properties of titanium depend on the presence of impurities in its composition, which fall into two groups: 1) impurities of introduction: nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, carbon and 2) impurities of substitution: silicon and iron. Introductory impurities: - reduce ductility and increase strength. The strength of pure titanium 57 NV can increase more than twofold. The presence of oxygen at a concentration of 0.1-0.5% has little effect on the ductility of titanium, but at 0.7%, titanium completely loses its capacity for plastic deformation. Nitrogen increases the strength limits and reduces the ductility at the same time.
