Properties and Usage
Structural alloy steels of 18CrG, 16MnCr5 and 16hg grades are subjected to various technological operations of chemical-thermal treatment. Rolled sheets of these steels have the following physical and mechanical characteristics:
- Tensile strength, MPa - 1000;
- Ultimate ductility, MPa - 700;
- Tensile elongation, % - 21;
- Relative contraction, % - 62;
- Brinell hardness - 170...200 (smaller dimensions correspond to hot-rolled strip and sheet).
Rolled sheets of these steels are used in the production of sheet metal parts of machines, which work under increased loads of sliding friction. 18CrG, 16MnCr5 and 16hg steels are prone to temper embrittlement and are susceptible to flock formation. The weldability of cemented products is limited.
