Technical feature

High-alloyed high-temperature resistant austenitic nickel-based steel with additions of not less than 70% Ni) with cobalt, titanium, niobium, aluminum. Developed and patented by Special Metals. The steel is resistant to high-temperature corrosion at temperatures up to 1200° C. Designed for long term operation in thermal shock and oxidizing environments. The strength can be increased by heat treatment.

Recommended welding consumables: INCONEL 117, AWS A5.11

Applications

Gas turbine engines, heat-resistant parts of industrial furnaces, nuclear power

U.S. sourcing overview

Hastelloy X is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy used where high-temperature strength and resistance to oxidizing environments are required. The terms Hastelloy X, UNS N06002 and 2.4665 appear in purchasing documents, but the enquiry must identify the governing specification and required delivery condition.

Product forms and sourcing

Supply can be reviewed for sheet, plate, strip, coil and cut blanks, subject to specification, thickness, width and quantity. State whether mill edges, slit edges, cut lengths, protective film, surface finish, flatness, testing or further processing are required.

Evek LLC reviews each requirement against the requested grade, specification, form, dimensions and quantity. Availability, origin, production route, minimum quantity and certification are confirmed during quotation; website text is not a stock or compliance guarantee.

Specification and substitution

Do not select a substitute only from a trade-name or cross-reference table. Chemistry limits, heat treatment, mechanical properties, dimensional tolerances and testing may differ between ASTM, AMS, EN and customer specifications. Any alternative requires purchaser or engineering approval.

The purchaser remains responsible for material selection, design approval and confirmation that the specified material is suitable for the finished component, manufacturing process and service environment.
