Inconel 718 flat products

Inconel 718 / UNS N07718 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy used where high strength and elevated-temperature performance are required. Sheet, plate and strip enquiries should state the governing specification, dimensions, condition and documentation.

Specifications and ordering details

Flat products may be requested to ASTM B670 or an applicable AMS or customer specification, including AMS 5596 where required. Specify thickness, width, length or strip requirements, condition, tolerance, surface or edge requirements, quantity and inspection documentation. The governing specification and certified mill test report control the order.

Alloy KhN45MVTYUBR produced according to GOST 5632-74.

Technical characteristics

High-alloyed high-temperature austenitic nickel-based steel (50-55% Ni) most common in the INCONEL range. Developed and patented by Special Metals in 1963. Steel is resistant to high-temperature corrosion at temperatures up to 700 ° C. Designed for a long service life under conditions of thermal shocks and oxidizing environments.

Machining

Turning, milling, grinding, drilling. The alloy combines good workability and high strength. Good weldability, high corrosion cracking resistance of welds.

Application

Sheet cladding material for supersonic aircraft, parts of gas turbines and jet engines, nuclear reactors, pipeline and stop valves for the petrochemical industry.
