Birmabright alloy grade selection
Birmabright is used as a family or trade designation for aluminum-magnesium alloys with different magnesium and manganese contents. It is not one fixed chemistry. The buyer should identify the exact Birmabright grade or an approved modern specification and state whether alternatives are permitted. Corrosion resistance, formability, strength and weldability depend on grade, temper and product form.
Sheet, strip, wire, bar and tube requirements
Provide the exact grade, governing standard, form, dimensions, tolerance, temper, surface and quantity. For sheet or strip, include width, length or coil data, edge and flatness. For wire or bar, state diameter, straightness and coil or cut length. For tube, specify outside diameter, wall, length and construction. Add mechanical-property requirements, inspection, marking and certificate type, plus the forming, welding or marine-service conditions where relevant.
