Aluminum plate is specified by alloy and temper
“Aluminum plate” alone is too broad for an accurate quote: different alloys and tempers serve different fabrication requirements. State the alloy designation, temper, thickness, width, length, tolerance, finish and whether full plate or cut blanks are needed. Do not assume one grade, corrosion performance or weldability applies to all aluminum plates.
Specification for quotation
ASTM B209/B209M covers aluminum and aluminum-alloy flat sheet and plate in specified alloys and tempers. Include the edition required by the purchase order and any extra testing or origin requirements. A legacy GOST grade requires its own explicit specification rather than automatic substitution with a U.S. alloy.
