Characteristics

Chrome-nickel steel 14Х17Н2 (ЭИ268) is a martensitic-ferritic alloy. Specific weight of rolled steel at 20 °C is 7.75 g/cm³. High qualities of this steel allow using it in severe industrial conditions. Its composition of 16-18% chromium and 1.5-2.5% nickel, 0.8% manganese and silicon, 0.3% copper and 0.2% titanium, carbon - 0.11-0.17%, thousands of percent of phosphorus and sulfur. Chromium and nickel, protect the surface of structures, against wet corrosion and corrosion cracking give resistance to intergranular corrosion. Additions of silicon, manganese and titanium additionally improve processability and performance qualities.
