Steel D40S
Designation
Description
D40S steel is used: for the production of plate, universal broadband, bandpass and shaped rolled, intended for the manufacture of shells and other welded structures of ships and floating structures.
Note
High-strength steel.
Standards
Chemical composition
Fe is the basis.
According to GOST 5521-93, the mass fraction of nitrogen is allowed up to 0.012%, provided that KCU ≥ 294 kJ / m 2 is provided in the rolled product after mechanical aging at 20 ° C. It is allowed in place of aluminum soluble in acids, to determine its total mass fraction, while the rate increases by 0.005%. Partial replacement of aluminum with titanium is allowed: the total mass fraction of aluminum and titanium should be at least 0.015%, the mass fraction of titanium - not more than 0.020%, the mass fraction of aluminum soluble in acids - not less than 0.005%. The microalloying of niobium and (or) vanadium steel to 0.05 and 0.10%, respectively, or other grain refining admixtures is permitted in agreement with the consumer. Deviation in copper is ± 0.05%.
