Steel АЦ50
Designation
Description
АЦ50 steel is used: for the production of bars intended for the manufacture of automotive components by hot forming with subsequent machining.
Note
Calcium-containing steel of high machinability.
Standards
Chemical composition
Fe is the basis.
According to TU 14-1-3283-81 chemical analysis is given for steel grade AC50. In the designation of steel letters mean: A - automatic, C - calcium. Microalloying of calcium steel is carried out by silicocalcium and other calcium alloys at the rate of introduction of 0,030-0,090% of calcium into liquid metal. The mass fraction of calcium is not determined by chemical analysis. In steel, the mass fraction of arsenic is not more than 0.080%. In steel, smelted with scrap-process, a mass fraction of copper and nickel is allowed up to 0.030% of each. The mass fraction of nitrogen in oxygen-converter steel should not exceed 0.0080%. In finished bars, subject to the requirements of the technical specification, deviations in chemical composition are allowed: by carbon ± 0.010%, for manganese ± 0.030%, for silicon ± 0.020%, for sulfur and phosphorus +0.0050% for each.
